Seeing red....

If days were coloured then my time on Scilly last week would be mixture of lemon yellows and sky blues. Yellow for the sand on Samson, warm under my feet. And blue for lying in the garden looking at the sky through the tree hanging over the roof.

But today would be red. Firstly because my friend has bought herself a scarlet red jaguar and she took me for a ride along the north coast of Cornwall.....

We drove the scarlet car to Mawgan Porth to have a nosey around the new Scarlet Hotel. It's an ecofriendly hotel right above the cliffs. It has one of the best views in Cornwall and I'm going to see if I can make the other half take me there for a night....especially to go to the spa. I loved the outdoor pool and waterfall...and we looked longingly at these scarlet outside jacuzzis.

Mawgan Porth looks even better in the winter than it does in the summer so it would be a perfect winter break. Especially as it's half price mid week until March.

From the website the rooms look lovely.

But I really want to go there to eat because my favourite chef Ben Tunnicliffe works there. I had had to change my food favourite to The Driftwood at Portscatho after Ben left the Abbey....but I may be heading to the north coast from now on....
